As of 18 february 2016 CiMaas has appointed the renowned oncologists Professor Dr Joachim Aerts and Professor Dr John Haanen as member of the Scientific Advisory Board of CiMaas.
Professor Aerts is a Pulmonologist and Medical Oncologist at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam Breda with specialization in lung cancer and mesothelioma (asbestos cancer). He is developing immunotherapy for these incurable diseases and has special interest and long experience in dendritic cell vaccination in both preclinical and clinical studies.
Professor Haanen specializes in Internal Medicine with emphasis on medical oncology in the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (AVL) as well as researcher at the department immunotherapy of the Dutch Cancer Institute. He is an expert in treatment of patients with metastasized melanoma (skin cancer) or kidney cancer. His research focuses on enhancing the immune response against these types of cancer. In melanoma, he developes DNA-vaccines as well as adoptive T cel transfer. Finally, he coordinates multi-center clinical trials for many new immunotherapeutics.
